01 / Pricing

Pricing, Minimums, And Payment

Minimums, deposits, travel fees, payment timing, and tipping.

Is there a time minimum?

Yes. Labor-only moves have a 2-hour minimum, and full moves with a truck have a 3-hour minimum. If your move goes past the minimum, you pay in 15-minute increments based on the hourly rate.

What is a trip fee and why are you charging it?

A trip fee is a one-time travel fee for moves outside a free service zone. It helps cover gas, the truck, and the time the movers spend traveling while the truck is empty before or after your move.

Is there a deposit or cancellation fee?

No deposit is required to reserve a move slot. Plans change, so if you need to cancel or reschedule, just let us know as soon as possible.

When do I pay for my move?

Payment is collected at the end of the move. The movers stop the clock, tell you the final total, and you can pay with major credit cards, cash, or check.

How much should I tip my movers?

Tips are optional, but always appreciated when the crew does great work. Many customers tip around 10% to 15% of the final bill, though the amount is completely up to you.

Do I add my tip to the bill or leave cash?

Cash tips are usually preferred, but you can also leave a tip on a credit card if that is easier.

02 / Cost Factors

Moving Cost And Mover Trust Questions

Hourly pricing, quote factors, hidden costs, valuation, licensing, and red flags.

How much do movers charge per hour in Texas?

Hourly moving cost in Texas depends on the company, crew size, truck needs, access, inventory, and move date. For an accurate inNout Movers quote, share the addresses, stairs, parking, heavy items, packing needs, and any extra stops.

What affects the cost of a move?

The biggest moving cost factors are crew time, move size, stairs, elevators, parking distance, packing scope, furniture assembly, heavy items, extra stops, route time, and whether the move needs a truck or labor-only help.

What are hidden moving costs to watch for?

Common surprise costs come from undisclosed stairs, long carries, elevator delays, parking problems, packing materials, extra stops, heavy items, or furniture that needs tools. A clear quote should ask about those details before move day.

What is the cheapest day to hire movers?

Weekdays and non-peak dates are often easier to schedule than month-end weekends, but price and availability depend on crew schedule, season, access, and move size. Ask about availability as soon as your date is firm.

Is long-distance moving priced hourly or by distance?

Long-distance moving is usually scoped differently from a simple local hourly move. Route distance, inventory, truck space, packing, loading access, delivery access, storage stops, and timing all shape the quote.

What is valuation versus moving insurance?

Valuation is the mover liability option tied to the shipment, while moving insurance usually refers to separate or expanded protection. Ask what protection applies to your move before booking, especially for fragile or high-value items.

Should I get a written moving estimate?

Yes. A written estimate helps confirm the addresses, inventory, crew size, access details, services included, minimums, travel fees, and any packing or furniture assembly scope before moving day.

How do I avoid a bad moving company?

Look for clear licensing information, real reviews, a written estimate, a real phone number, transparent scope, and branded or identifiable equipment. Be cautious with vague quotes, unusually large deposits, or companies that will not explain who is handling the move.

What is the difference between a moving broker and a mover?

A mover handles the move with its own operation or crew, while a broker sells or arranges the move with another carrier. Ask who will actually arrive at your home, who owns the truck, and who is responsible for claims or schedule changes.

03 / Process

Move-Day Process

Trucks, multi-stop moves, furniture assembly, arrival windows, and setup.

Why should I hire professional movers?

Professional movers make the move safer, easier, and less stressful. Heavy, delicate, and bulky items take skill, equipment, and experience to move well.

What type of trucks do you use?

We use 24- to 36-foot box trucks and trailers. Each truck is stocked with moving pads, dollies, toolkits, bungees, and the equipment needed to protect your belongings in transit.

Do you load or unload rental trucks and pods?

Yes. We offer labor-only loading and unloading for customer-provided trucks, trailers, storage units, and pods.

What happens if I have multiple pickup or drop-off locations?

Multiple stops are not a problem. There is no extra destination fee, but the move will take more time, and the clock does not stop while the crew drives between locations.

Can my movers assemble or disassemble furniture?

Yes. The crew can disassemble and reassemble furniture when needed, including beds, mirrors, dresser pieces, and table legs. Movers bring stocked tool bags, and this work is included in the hourly rate.

What can I do to make sure belongings end up in the correct spot?

Be present at the destination and give the crew clear room-by-room directions. Labeling boxes before move day also helps everything land where it belongs.

How much can you fit into a truck?

A 26-foot box truck typically fits the belongings from a roughly 2,000-square-foot home. Every home is different, but that is a useful planning rule of thumb.

Can I leave clothing in my dresser when I move?

Yes. You can usually leave clothing in dresser drawers. The movers will wrap the dresser so your items stay secure during the move.

What happens if my movers arrive late?

Morning moves have a 30-minute arrival window to account for traffic. Afternoon moves have a 1-hour window because timing depends on when the previous move finishes.

Can the movers arrange furniture in my new home?

Yes. When the crew delivers your items, they will work with you to place furniture and boxes in the correct rooms.

What should I expect from the crew on moving day?

Expect a crew that listens, handles belongings with care, and works to make the day feel smooth. We are not just moving boxes; we are helping people get settled.

04 / Valuation

Insurance And Valuation

Texas mover liability, default valuation, and what that means in plain English.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. We are insured in Texas. Legal Texas movers must be registered and provide mover liability for damaged or lost goods, including default valuation at $0.60 per pound as regulated by TxDMV and the Texas Department of Insurance.

05 / Services

Scheduling And Services

Packing, office moves, and long-distance move availability.

Do you offer packing services?

Yes. We offer full and partial packing services using quality packing materials, so your belongings are protected and ready for transport.

Do you cover office or commercial moves?

Yes. We handle office and commercial moves for companies of different sizes, from smaller office moves to larger business relocations.

Do you offer out-of-state moves?

Yes. InNout Movers can help with long-distance and out-of-state moves. Tell us the origin, destination, timing, and inventory so we can scope the route and crew correctly.
